This Gets Weird is a narrative-driven game with simple platforming puzzles alongside an environment setting based on Hansel and Gretel but with a twist. The whole game takes place in a forest with the central focal point being the witch's house. The protagonist of the story is Gretel, who is dealing with past trauma and must learn how to grow emotionally so that she can deal with the trauma and save her sibling.
This was my capstone project for university. I was the lead game designer in a team of 6 students. Other than myself, there was 1 programmer, 2 3D artists, and 2 graphic design group members. This was a much more serious project that took over 6 months to complete. I learned how to work with a bigger team with multiple disciplines. All of the assets and textures are original and made just for this project. The project was a success and was released in a complete state without any bugs.
